Gallery Cleanup!

Journal Entry: Wed Jan 30, 2008, 11:44 PM
I have cleaned up the gallery, removing some, putting most in Scraps.

Yesterday I attended the Broadcast Live VideoForum which was interesting. Some good seminars with Adobe there. After Effects and Flash, PS and Illustrator all working so well together for THE GREATER GOOD

I am in the process of moving to an awesome flat, so all my scribbles will have to wait.
But after then, cat-biscuit is going under demolitionl! :3

Also, 90% of people who see my artwork point out the polar bear paintings, and remember them. So of course I will do more digi-painting, but probably oil and goache painting again as well.

This is different enough from my work that I can relax with it and look forward to it, and continue to express myself and develop. Rather than sell the remaining chards of my soul freelancing with icons and assets and whatnot, trying to find the next big thing. I already found it.

So!
Things to do~

Hello 2008

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 5, 2008, 4:25 PM
All change at DeviantArt, I'm looking for new people, new methods! Current deviants please feel free to reccommend me friends, etc that will inspire my personal work or I may even depart wisdom upon.

At work I get a lot of creative freedom and I don't think my soul is in danger.
A good friend from university is going to be moving down and working with us. We will also move to a larger office. We have worked with some big clients in the past but so far I have done content only for estate agents.

Speaking of estate agents, currently looking to move out once again
I think home has become important to me, only since living with my room mates at uni and the fun times we had then, also the time I spent abreoad. so perhaps I am trying to reenact some kind of dream..but creating, aren't we all?

Now on Facebook

Journal Entry: Sat Dec 29, 2007, 9:17 AM
Since DeviantArt can now integrated with Facebook with an app there I will try to use it more often.
If you don't have an account already (here or there) it is easiy to start and possibly makes life easier.
Good news that the internet isn't so inbred anymore!

Work status

I now have a brilliant job. I'm a motion graphic designer, mostly for estate agents. Designing layouts, then animating the elements, creating logos. Basically animation whore. It's creative, fun and time goes fast.

I haven't done much graphic design previously. I am primarily an animator and illustrator. So I am seeing the world in new ways and my work may shift a bit, but I will be back posting on a regular basis.

My online art outpourings have been getting sparse. Not too long ago, art was an addiction. I had to draw whenever I had free time. Upload on the net, rush of adrenalin from comments, seeing the images. It kept me going and I jumped out of bed in the mornings happy because I had energy to spend the day drawing, viewing artists I like, etc.

Now I spend more time reading the news and cleaning and would rather blank out than draw much of the time. I carry a sketchbook around but it's rare that I sketch for hours or draw every day. If I set out time to draw it's like a ritual that needs to be done right, grr. Weirdo.

Thanks to the Dizz for reminding me of the existence of deviantart!

I finished my degree. Unfortunatly this semester didn't go too well. In the past I've been very hardworking but this last semester, because we were having only one lecture a week. I lost focus! I can't imagine what it would have been like if I were still playing WoW. I realise now that when I am following my own projects and devices I am fine, and when I am given jobs to do I am also fine! but I do not stick to a plan. Variety is the spice of life.

It's going to take me a while to go through everyone's artwork so stay tuned. Expect pixel art, fun animations, matte paintings and the like! I am fondling maya right now but photoshop and a pencil will always be my main love.

I have been applying for jobs in production studios in Soho, but I just want to work and get some income right now so I'm taking whatever's thrown at me from the temp agency !
